Is there an arrangement fee for taking out a loan?
You might think that there would be a fee for arranging your personal loan. This is often the case when arranging mortgages as building societies like to charge an 'administration fee' which always appears after they have convinced you their product is the best one.
In the case of personal loans, it is very unlikely that a separate charge will be made to arrange the loan. Unlikely but not unheard of, so as in the case with all other aspects of the loan agreement you are looking at, it is a wise person who checks the very small print.
Any charges that pertain to the issuing of the loan from the lender to the borrower must be detailed in writing exactly how much and what charges are likely to be made in connection with that loan agreement. Our advice is always to check the small print or you could be signing up for more than you bargained for.
