What forms of identification do I need?
Taking out a loan, like opening a bank account, requires detailed confirmation of your identification. This is as much for your protection as for the loan provider. Knowledge of your credit history will enable them to ensure that you do not take out a loan that you cannot pay back or gets you into financial trouble.
Typically you will need two forms of commonly accepted document, such as a current passport, full driving licence or national insurance number.
You will need confirmation of your residential address in the form of a recent utility bill (e.g. gas, phone, electricity etc.).
It is a criminal offence to try and claim any loan using false information.
