How much can I borrow?
This will depend on your personal circumstances and how much you would like to borrow. Generally you can borrow anywhere from £5000 up to £100,000 with an secured loan.
It is important to remember that even if your loan is secured, you should aim to borrow only what you can afford to repay.
One of the best ways to do this is to first calculate a simple household budget. List out in one column on a piece of paper all the money you have coming in to the budget. Your salary is usually the main source but if there is some money coming from elsewhere, don't forget to list it. Then, in another column, list all your monthly expenditure items. For example, mortgage, food bills, vet bills. Everything that you know you will have to pay out each month.
Then calculate the simple formula of income minus expenditure and that amount is what you could feasibly afford to pay as a monthly loan repayment.
